Welcome to my new blog page. I decided to try a new interface for posting information, and provide an easier search feature so that if students were unable to find my webpage using schoolnotes, that this might come up more easily for them.
The musical opens in just over 4 weeks and there is so much excitement and work going on at the school! All the large pieces have been mostly finished, and now we're just moving into the "polish and perfection" stage!
The dancers will take their pieces to the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival this Tuesday. They will be the only team in the middle school category that has created their work through extracurricular time; the other schools all have actual courses and class time to work on their material. I am so incredibly proud of the dedication these students have shown to their craft, and am so grateful for our partnership with the students from Spectrum who come to work with our dancers every week. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteBut, just a correction...Shoreline doesn't have a dance program or class either. Our dancers are extra-curricular too....in my classroom at lunch. Have been for nine years.

Love the blog idea too. I had a blog for a few years about the show, but it was more the sarcastic side. Having communication/info for the students is a great idea, since no one listens to announcements. ;)
